4427.0. "%MCC-E-INV_HANDLE_STAT error ???" by MASALA::BFJONES () Fri Jan 22 1993 04:05

    Hi,
    	Does anyone out there know what I can do to sort out the following
    error I'm getting when adding a new entity to a domain :

    	MCC Routine Error %MCC-E-INV_HANDLE_STAT,software error:
    	invalid handle state.

    	The entity in question is a domain name I've had previously but has
    	disappeared from the iconic map at some point. I think the error
    	relates to a problem in my private namespace.

    Any help appreciated.

    Regards

You'll have to supply more data than just the error message to get an answer...
	- Class of object you were trying to add?
	- DECmcc version?
	- Operating System & version?

4427.2more info, more questions.TOOK::MCPHERSONpre-retinal integrationThu Jan 28 1993 11:1852
More data was mailed to me, but I don't have any answers.

All I can suggest is trying these operations from FCL to see if they unearth
any other clues:
	1. MCC> SHOW DOMAIN <problem-child-domain-name> ALL ATTR
	2. MCC> SHOW DOMAIN <problem-child-domain-name> MEMBER *
	3. MCC> DELETE DOMAIN <problem-child-domain-name> MEMBER *
	4. MCC> DELETE DOMAIN <problem-child-domain-name>
	5. MCC> SHOW DOMAIN <parent-domain-name> MEMBER *
	6. MCC> CREATE DOMAIN <problem-child-domain-name>
	7. MCC> CREATE DOMAIN <parent-domain-name>  -
	   _MCC> MEMBER <problem-child-domain-name>

Anyone else care to speculate what the problem might be?

Doug,
	In reply to 4427 on the MCC notes file, we have MCC 1.2.3 here,
	VMS V5.5, and I was trying to add a domain within an existing
	domain. This domain previously existed but has somehow
	disappeared. Only when I come to add it on to the map - ie
	point to where I want the domain entity placed does the message appear
.

	If you need more info give me a ring on DTN 789 8399. Any help
	would be greatly appreciated in fixing this one.

	Best regards
