4415.0. "ELM AM/FM questions/problems" by ANOSWS::COMFORT (Cold iron shackle, ball & chain) Wed Jan 20 1993 14:07

    Hi,

    I had occasion to use the ELM AM/FM today while looking for packets and
    filters on a lanbridge 200. While using the iconic map, I have noticed
    some irregularities. Maybe these have already been addressed, but I
    can not find a way to show the forwarding database anymore (I recently
    upgraded to V 1.2.3). Furthermore when I drill into the bridge and the
    line child entities, under the show operation, it displays FDDI station
    and concentrator data fileds, but for a lanbridge 200? It should know
    this, I think.

    Anyway, I am looking for inforamtion about these discepencies.

    Thanks,

    Dave Comfort

    Wow, I've never seen anything liek this before. Can you post the
    following commands from the LANbridge 200 in question:

    mcc>show bridge xxx all char
    mcc>show bridge line * all char

    Thanks,

    Bob -

    It is happening for all bridges, 200 and 150 are what we have. In form
    mode, the correct fields are displayed when the pf2 key is pressed. Only
    in the iconic map is there a problem.

4415.3parse table vs. dictionary useGOSTE::CALLANDERFri Jan 22 1993 08:365
    quick note Bob. Please remember that the FCL knows all about
    children and their supported directives through the parse tables,
    while the map learns about them by going to the dictionary. This
    may mean that the problem is in the dictionary (while the parse
    tables remain uncorrupted).

    That sure sounds like a possililty. Will .0 please post the following:

    $manage/tool/dict
    DAP>show class bridge
    DAP>show class bridge subclass line
    DAP>show class concentrator
    DAP>show class Concentrator subclass line

    Thanks,

4415.5re: the dumpsANOSWS::COMFORTCold iron shackle, ball & chainFri Jan 22 1993 11:1718

    Hi,

    I did the dictonary dumps. The resultant file is 45x lines long, so
    initially I have not entered it here. You can get it via the following
    access string, if thats ok.

    	ANOSWS"COMMON$USER"::BRIDGE.STUFF

    Also, the dumps put an extra crlf behind each line and the original
    file was over 900 lines long. I edited it to reduce the size. I have
    the original in the same place only use the file name BRIDGE.ORG.

    Let me know if you prefer to have it posted and I will do so.

    Thanks,
