4396.0. "Graph Statistics weirdness" by GUMBAH::DAWSON (Subvert the Dominant Paradigm) Fri Jan 15 1993 12:00

    Ok, I'm using MCC to look at a DECnis 600 and focusing in on an
    ethernet station. I'm graphing both inbound and outbound octets and
    inbound and outbound utilization. It looks like the inbound octets is
    tied to the outbound utilization and outbound octets is tied to inbound
    utilization.  Weird.

    The numbers:

    Count of inbound octets run around 130000 with a peak to 240000
    Count of outbound octets run around 500000 fairly steady
    OUtbound utilization is steady at about 20% with a peak to 35%
    corresponding to the peak in inbound octets above
    Inbound utilization is steady at about 70%

    Like I said, it looks like the graph of Outbound and inbound
    utilization are switched.

    Can anyone 'splain this to me?

    Mike

4396.1Keeps on going...and going...GUMBAH::DAWSONSubvert the Dominant ParadigmMon Jan 18 1993 08:457
    Upon further diagnosis, the % utilization numbers from the base note
    should be in the .70 and .35 range, etc. I was reading the numbers
    incorrectly. However, the fact remains that the inbound and outbound
    tie-in still seems to be evident. Has nobody else seen this? Can
    nobody explain it? Who do I need to talk to to report this?

I would suggest that you file a QAR for the component MCC$PA.
See note 7 for information.

4396.3QAR no...SPR?GUMBAH::DAWSONSubvert the Dominant ParadigmMon Jan 18 1993 09:217
    Tried that, the QAR system said that this version (1.2) is no longer in
    field test and I should file a SPR. Be glad to, but don't know how.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Mike

I have forwarded your question to Henry (TOOK::HDAVIS) Davis,
who supervises our QA group.

    Erik,

    Could you prod Henry for me? I sent him a mail message but he has
    neglected to respond.

    Thanks,
