Hi, My customer is wandering why it takes 3 CPU hours to rebuild and 2 CPU hours to update the MCC parse tables, even in DECmcc 1.3. Can somebody give me some explanations ? Thanks. Michel

Michel: The reason has to do with the time it takes to find and delete items out of the parse tables. If I could, I'd eliminate the parse tables completely today! Actually, we're starting to use some new technology from the Common Agent project to make the DECmcc dictionary smaller and faster. Stay tuned for these capabilites in future versions. BTW, you can try looking for notes with the DICTIONARY keyword for more info on this topic. - Jerry |
