4390.0. "Toolkit Advice" by KCBBQ::TERRY (TERRY_B) Thu Jan 14 1993 16:52

    	Hi,

I'm Brian Terry in the Kansas City Office. I have Sprint as a
customer. They have spent years bouncing around several "grand
schemes" as to how they are going to manage elements and systems
in their long distance network. They have been interested in MCC
and it's capabilities but mainly as a curiousity. However, now
they are interested in modeling their network, and how we could
help. Specifically, they have modelled elements with a product
called Application Developers Workbench (ADW). From what I can
gather, they have been building E-R diagrams with this tool.
Assuming that they get the PolyCenter (MCC) toolkit, is there
a way they could import these models. I realize that there may
be some data specification descrepencies, but this would give
them a start. Also, it seems that they might be on the right
track with this whole exercise, and it would be great if we
could crank some joint development or other consulting with
    	them.

My apologies if I'm way off base, but any help would be
    	appreciated,

    	Thanks,

    	Brian Terry

  Not at the present time.

Sounds interesting. We have some longgggggg range ideas (notice that I did
not say plans) about doing some of this kind of work. Some work along these
lines is being considered by NSM A/D.

Send me some mail (MOLAR::PLOUFFE) or give me a call at DTN 381-2342 if you
want to pursue these ideas. I can, at least, bring you up-to-date with some
internal discussions that have been going on.
