4385.0. "TRANSLAN 350 S/W THAT SUPPORT SNMP REQUEST" by ZPOVC::SINSPS () Wed Jan 13 1993 22:29

    Hi, does anyone has lastest version of TRANSLAN 350 s/w ? My customer
    require a version that support SNMP.

    I understand that both 10.5 and 10.5.1 support SNMP but what's the
    different between them ?

    Is it possible to make the s/w available on the network ? In this part
    of the world, we have difficulty in getting new releases of the s/w.
    Currently, all our clients over here are still running 10.4-3.

    Would appreciate any help or advice, thanks.

4385.1snmp support is shippingCOL01::LUNTThu Jan 14 1993 04:0120
    Hello Leh,

    	As far as I know, that translan software is not available
    internally for customer use. I do however know that in January
    Translan started shipping as follows: (from a mail from Bruno Lefevre in
    Valbonne on january 4, 1993).

             2) The SNMP is released today with the TransLAN.
                       o 6.11.1 for TL III
                       o 10.5.1 for TL 335 and TL 350
                       o 20.3.1 for TL 320
               ESSB will start this month to distribute new releases.

    So you might have the customer contact his vitalink support person to
    get the newest release. Or you could contact ESSB when the customer has
    a service contract with Digital.

    re .1

    Julie,

    Thanks very much for your update. So the 10.5.1 for TRANSLAN 350 has just
    been released. I guess my customer would have to be more patience.

4385.3Will the MIB work?ANOSWS::COMFORTCold iron shackle, ball & chainThu Jan 14 1993 13:186

    Will the MIB supplied with the DECmcc V1.2 software oerate against the
    Translan software? I believe that this was originally developed for
    the TransPath software. Or has VitaLink merged TransPath and TransLan?
