Hi,
I have found interesting behaviour in DECmcc Ultrix V1.2.3.
I've defined about 20 Node4 alarm rules which are enabled at the
same time. The result is that I can see 0 to 4 alarms with
error message "Management protocol error". And no NICE packets
are sent to those nodes (I used Sniffer to figure it out).
If I enable 10 rules and the rest after 5 minutes, everything
works fine.
I have about 10 SNMP rules but those works fine. I don't use
exporting or any other activities in the system (DCMX is
running but I think it doesn't matter in this case).
I'm using following configuration:
DECstation 5000-133
64 Mb memory
Ultrix v4.3
DECmcc v1.2.3
I didn't have any problems in installation but several
"Node4 AM internal error" after that (for example if I tried to
enable event logging or disable/enable rules using 2 FCLs
simultaniously). DECmcc has hanged few times in different
operations.
I have changed required parameters and rebuilt kernel.
Has anyone seen this before? How can I troubleshoot this
further? Any hints ??
