I've seen somewhere that ONdemand, the Chipcom Network Control System, was now part of the POLYCENTER solution...is it true..? Did anyone already use/practice it..? Any experience would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Robert

We've just installed an alpha version of the ONdemand NCS SW of CHIPCOM on a DECstation 5000-200 running ULTRIX 4.2A and DECmcc 1.3 EFT. As far as I tested yet the "ONdemand SW" it is quit stabil. It is really easy to work with it. It can be launched via DECmcc via the application menu or by dobleclicking on the icon depending on how it is setup. The performance statistic window is quit poor, because the window can not be changed in its size. So the statistics are displayed in very tiny windows. Roland

To .1, Hi Roland, I'm working on CHIPCOM EMM via DECmcc/ULTRIX for my customer. As you are working on an ALPHA ONdemand NCS (meaning ALPHA/OSF1 ?), is there any ULTRIX version of NCS ? Is it possible that to have EASYnet pointer, or should I contact CHIPCOM to get their software ? Thank you for your help. Regards, Renato

>>>> As you are working on an ALPHA ONdemand NCS (meaning ALPHA/OSF1 ?), is there any ULTRIX version of NCS ? I'm not using the ONdemand SW on a ALPHA platform. The ONdemand SW is a "alpha" test version and not officially available in europe yet. According to Chipcom representatives the SW will be released sometimes after February 93. >>>> Is it possible that to have EASYnet pointer, or should I contact CHIPCOM to get their software ? The SW is only available via Chipcom due to license reasons. Please contact Chipcom France or Germany.
