DEC mcc v1.2 trying to change ethernet address of decserver. Using FCL Rename server_name old_address new_address - says sucessful. If you check in operations directory gives right address however show identifiers shows old address. Workaround - have deleted old server and added new server. Is this a bug or how do you change a terminal server address properly? David Henze CSC Basingstoke

David- I've tried to duplicate your bug report, and had no luck... Could you post the exact command that you entered which caused this to happen? As far as I can tell, the command "Rename server_name old_address new_address" as reported in your note is not acceptable command, typing in MCC> RENAME TEMINAL_SERVER old_address ADDRESS new_address should give you the desired results. Regards, Dave BTW, this was using the local MIR option, are you using local MIR or DECdns? |
