One of our customers has currently purchased DECmcc. They have also purchased Target Systems' Hot Line and Asset Tracker. The Asset Tracker (as you may well have guessed) is a database that will be used to track corporate network assets. This database will be used for supporting the Hot Line software (which is used for tracking customer problems). This customer would like the ability to automatically update the Asset Tracker database whenever a new node or device is registered in DECmcc. The Asset Tracker software has a utility for loading information from an ASCII(text) file. Does anyone know of or can suggest a way of DECmcc automatically generating a file (or whatever) when an entity is registered in DECmcc? Has anyone else had any experience doing this kind of thing with the Target Systems software? Cheers, Randy

I would write a shell script the updates both Tracker and MCC at the same time. I would not expect a callout from MCC to provide the information to Tracker. In may cases, the information would overlap, but I expect that each would like information that the other does not need. |
