4167.0. "EVL in MUTEX!!!" by JUNG::GALVIN (Mic, from chicaaaaaaago!) Mon Nov 30 1992 17:59
DECnet Event Logging Sink
Hi. I've got VMS 5.5-1, EMS 2.2, local namespace and I'm having
problems with the EVL process.
I edited the MCC_STARTUP_DNA4_EVL.COM and setup EVENTS 0 & 4 for remote
entities. I have approximately 50 total, 30+ DECrouter 2000s and ~20
NODE4 entities (VAX systems).
My goal is to write ALARMS for DECnet Events (4.*) and a few for (0.*).
I'm seeing the EVL process go into MUTEX when I type, SHOW SYSTEM.
When I type, MC NCP SHO KNOWN LINKS, I see over 20 links to some of the
entities I have sink'd.
I raised RJOBLIM to 30, thinking perhaps it was a timing thing...
although RJOBLIM is dynamic, I rebooted to clear out the EVL situation.
Upon reboot I see the same problems? Any ideas?
When people write global ALARMS, ie: NODE4 *, specific to DECnet
Events, do they sink ALL nodes, or is there a mechanism I'm not aware
of? Thanks.
/Mic
