4146.0. "Specialized Exception Code 347" by TROOA::BALDOCK (Chris Baldock) Wed Nov 25 1992 10:26

Our customer is trying to poll 30 DECnet IV nodes for simple
network counters but they are getting the error
"MCC specialized exception code 347" when accessing the
majority of nodes. What does this error mean and how to I
    correct it?

    Thanks.

    Chris,

This exception tells "DECnet Phase IV Internal Error".
I think you are trying to use Historian and it shows this error
when you are doing Show Recording.
Try to specify a Show command for the same node4 and partition. It will
    give you more information.

	Sam:

Thanks for the info. Can you explain a little more about what you
mean by specifying a SHOW command for the same node4 and partition?

The customer is setting up a recording to start at 10 pm and
finish as 12 pm. It collects line counter data every 15 minutes
using a SHOW NODE4 nodename command. This triggers for 29 nodes
at about the same time. When they look at the statistics when
the recording is finished a node might have 2 successes and 5
failures. There are no time stamps for the failures, just the
	last one for each node.

If some are successful and others fail I am assuming there is a
	problem with resources and timing.

Do your node4s support multiple management links?

I don't know. How can I tell and if not, how can I change it?
