The mib translator is case-sensitive. Does the object appear as
"Experimental" or "experimental" (as it should be).

The other question I have is, is there only one mib defined in
the file, or more ? I've seen cases where people would put two mibs
in one file, which would generate the error you are seeing.
Search for "experimental" and see if it occurs anywhere else
in the file.

Hi Rahul!,
First of all Happy Thanks-Giving !!,
Here's the output as requested....you are right it does appear a number
of times and the error we see relates to the 2nd occurrance...
$Sea EMULEX_MIBDEF.TXT experimental
experimental, Counter, TimeTicks, Gauge
char OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { experimental 19 }
para OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { experimental 21 }
rs232 OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { experimental 20 }
The customer has sent me the Emulex Mib Definition file via X25 Mail
which I shall mail to you ....
Regards as always,
Sandie../

Emulex seems to have combined three separate mibs and put then
onto a single file. "char", "para", and "rs232" are three experimentals
mibs which are already shipped with the DECmcc kit. You will find
them in the following files :
CHAR_EXP_MIBDEF.TXT
PARALLEL_EXP_MIBDEF.TXT
RS232_EXP_MIBDEF.TXT
The VMS location is MCC_COMMON and on Ultrix you will find them
in the directory /usr/mcc/mcc_system. So load the three mibs into
the dictionary and you will be able to manage Emulex devices.
