4130.0. "TSAM: Support for MUXserver 100 Comm links?" by CSOADM::ROTH (From little acorns mighty oaks grow.) Mon Nov 23 1992 17:10

Does the TSAM AM for TSM SBB V1.2 support getting any status or counters
for the 'comm' side of the MUXserver 100 (the A & B comm links)?

Have played around with the TSAM T1.0.2 and cannot seem to find anything other
than things on the Ethernet side and the individual user ports.

Thanks-

Lee Roth

As far as I know, this model of terminal server does not support
reporting of the type of information that you can get from the newer
MUXservers, therefore TSAM is not able to display it either.

If I understand the history right, the MUXserver 100 code was developed by
taking the DECserver 100 code and making the changes underneith to
have a remote DECmux. The user interface was kept the same, and the
differences between the two boxes were hidden from the user as far as
the user interface was concerned.

TSAM should be able to report the information contained in the output
of the SHOW COMMUNICATIONS command of the MUXserver 100. This contains
all the information available for the Sync Links.

The support's not there in TSAM. That SHOW COMMUNICATIONS command
was news to me, but as plain as day when I do HELP on the MUX100
we have in the lab (no documentation...)

Sorry... If and when I work on TSAM again, that will be on the list.
