I try to understand what software is required for reports on a Ultrix
system.
BMS V1.2.3 (nov 1992) requires
FERIBASETLS630
FERICOMMON630
FERIVIGRAPH630
I put an order to Ingres, who told me that V6.3 was already superceeded
by a V6.4 since january 1992. More, since september this year V6.3 is
not sold any more. What are the products (and their order #) which
are assumed to be used ?
1). Can V6.4 (FERIBASETLS640,FERICOMMON640,FERIVIGRAPH640) be used
today ?
2). Does the installation of BMS V1.2.3 will accept to install under
these circumstances ?
3). If V6.3 has to be used, from where can we get that SW ?
4). What is the future of report writing under Ultrix ?

Hi,
This is not a reply but still another question about the same
subject.
I have the same problem. How is it possible to get those kits for
internal use ? What is the right answer to give to a customer under BMS
1.2 with ULTRIX 4.2 ? Will ORACLE be supported in BMS 1.3 ? If yes under
wich version ?

These Ingres kits are licensed from Ingres, and we pay a license fee for each copy (even internally). ORACLE will not be supported in V1.3. Possibly a future version. I think there is a note in the NOTED::EMF_REQ conference; if not, you should make sure product management is aware of your concern. | |||||
