4099.0. "How to deregister Translans after they are gone?" by WELTM1::CRIDDLE (Graham Criddle, DS Tech Consultant, 853-4015) Tue Nov 17 1992 11:55
Hi....
Please consider the following scenario.
Our customer had two VMS MCC systems running 1.1 sharing a common DNS name space.
These systems were (among other things) monitoring Translan bridges.
Another MCC system was installed running 1.2 and sharing the same DNS name
space and it logged a problem when trying to open the domain containing the
Translan bridges, as it did not recognise them. Fine, so far.
The customer then removed the Translan bridges from the network before we were
able to deregister them from the MCC systems.
We are now in a situation where every time the MCC 1.2 system opens the domain
containing the Translan entities it logs an error condition but we cannot
deregister them from the 1.1 systems as they are no longer connected to the
network.
Any ideas as to how to resolve this problem?
Rgds,
Graham
