4093.0. "%MCC-E-KERNINITF failure" by CX3PT1::SHOTO::W_MCGAW () Mon Nov 16 1992 17:44

    Hi,

I have a customer who is seeing %MCC_E_KERNINITF when trying to enable
alarm rules. He is running DECmcc-EMS V2.2 and using a command
procedure to enable his alarms. His command procedure did run
successfully for 4-5 days and then encountered the problem. In the
command file, he enables his alarm rules and then issues a show command
for two days into the future. After the show comamnd executes, he
loops back to the beginning (he does not start a new process) and
starts all over again. When the error occurred, the procedure kept
looping and when he caught it, had created 150,000 blocks of log files.
He stopped the process, submitted it again and now it's working fine.

Could someone tell me what the error really means and if process memory
    exhaustion was the probable cause.

    Thanks'

Although this is a "general" error, which means that the MCC Kernel
Information Manager / Dispatcher failed to initialize properly, it
is usually due to a problem accessing /reading from /writing to the
Dispatch Tables. I don't see a direct correlation between opening
and reading in the dispatch tables and the procedure the customer
    is running.
