| Dave-
TSAM does have a license check for EMS in it. I'm baffled as to
why it does not work. Does your temporary PAK list DECMCC-EMS for
1-JUL-1992? Thats what we check for...

| Dave-
More info. If you got the temporary EMS pak from PPINC, then your PAK
expired on 31-Oct. Could that be it? (Don't know why everything else
wouldn't have stopped working too, unless you have other PAKs on the system
from old.

4030.3 | product release date issue? | ANOSWS::COMFORT | Spent a little time on the hill | Thu Nov 05 1992 10:00 | 34 |

Thanks for getting back,
If the date you are checking is the product release date...that
would explain the issue. The temporary pak is listed below. The
customer, SmithKline Beecham, is having to crawl all over the sales
rep to try and get the real pak and the temp pak is the best he
could do so far.

| I'm guessing that may be the problem, although whenever I start fooling
with LMF etc, I usually guess wrong the first four times. :-)
I vaguely recall that PAKs and license checking code can be done two ways:
1. product name & product release date
2. product name & product version
TSAM is checking for the product release date & product name.

I am attempting to get the sales rep to contact the temporary paks
folks and have requested that a new temp pak get issued with the
product release date of 01-jul-1992 included.
Thanks,

4030.6 | Looking to help! | ESSB::HENEGHAN | | Thu Nov 12 1992 08:50 | 15 |
| Folks
I have just had a call from a guy called Sebastian in Brussels asking
for help with this probllem. Software licensing and PAKS is my
responsibility here in ESSB, so I "hope" that I can help with this
one.
DO we have anyone from DECMCC-EMS engineering tuned into this note?
If so can you give me a call at 2-822-4630
I believe that there may be a problem with the licence PAK for
DECmee-EMS but I need to ask some questions first.

Does anyone know what version contains the correction?
Thanks in advance,
