Hi, I have a problem with Decmcc BMS 1.2 + TSAM + ELM, VMS 5.5 on a 4060 with 72Mb of memory, one rz25 and a rz57. The problem is encountered at all node4 i configured but the mcc station and a X25 router. When i do a Show node4 "node_name" characteristics, via Iconic Map i get a "No corresponding entity instance exists" window and i don't have any results from my query. Via FCL i have the same error but at least i have the data from my query, the error is at the administrativeState field. i defined mcc_fcl_pm_log at 8, but no more info other then the error above mentioned. I have a log file if can helps. I'm able to do show status and show counters. The thing that really scare me is that via iconic map i can't no more ask for sho node4 characteristic and this is really difficult to explain to the customer. I saw some notes close to this problem, the last is 3933, are there some news ??? Ciao, Andrea Lasagna.

Andreas, When the Iconic Map decodes a show or any other operation, it does not display the results in most cases (exceptions being getting extra information back or not getting expected information) IF it gets an error status back from any calls it makes. This is unlike the FCL which displays line by line and includes errors as it goes. The Iconic Map sets up the entire form in memory and decodes the entire reply before displaying it on the screen. It sounds like this is not a good situation for you. Some questions: 1. Did you ever use the Circuit AM with the node4s giving you difficulties. This attribute is in support of the Circuit AM. A workaround is to do the following from the FCL. set node4 <node_name> adm=unl . This will give the administrative state a valid value which can be returned by the SHOW. 2. Before you do the above, you could set MCC_PML_PM logical (environment variable) to 1 and you will get displayed the value of outp. If you could mail that to me or include it in a reply to this note, perhaps this will give us more information. Hope this helps. Verna |
