So I take it the note 2516.5 is wrong.
We now have a significant problem - we are running on Ultrix and
are setting up a multiple director system ( one central, seven slaves )
and we were hoping to use DNS to distribute the mcc MIR ,
but this requires Phase V, no DNS on Phase IV Ultrix.
Also on ULtrix can you run Dna5_evl and dna4_evl ? There is
either the Phase V or the Phase IV product.

Yes. 2516.1 states the restriction.

I haven't tried this, but in theory it may be a workaround to your problem.
Run MCC and the DNA4 EVL on one of the phaseIV nodes. Have the phaseIV
events sent to this node. Now, to get the events over to your main MCC
station (and Notification I presume) you may try something like is described
in note 3700. You'd have an Alarm rule listening for the particular event(s)
you're interested in, which a procedure (like note 3700's, but Ultrix based)
would use the Event Collector Send mechanism to send it over to the
EVC sink at the other end and your notification window.
Not pretty, but it could get you out of this problem.

Both the phase4 and phase5 EVLs can run simultaneously on a phase4 system.
The phase4 EVL cannot run on a phase5 system though.
This applies to both VMS and Ultrix.
