3987.0. "performance stats for 3400" by JUNG::GALVIN () Wed Oct 28 1992 14:53
MCC Performance Question
I've got a VAX3400 with 36mg of memory. 4 RF71s, with 4 pagefiles
spread over 2 volumes, total of 400k blocks of pagefile space. I'm
running VMS 5.5-1, EMS V2.2, and I'm using Client/Server (PATHworks),
with a DEC 433 PC workstation.
I've seen the previous notes pointing to #3882. This is good data.
I was wondering from a technical viewpoint, is there any tweeking I can
do to get more CPU for my buck? I see 70-90% CPU when I manipulate the
maps, from domain to domain. I don't have any HISTORIAN/EXPORTER data
in batch yet, and I haven't setup any of the ALARMS yet, and I'm
nervous...
My domains are pretty small, I think:
DNA4_SYSTEMS ~ 30 DNA4 entities
IP_SYSTEMS ~ 20 IP entities
DECROUTERS ~ 30 DECrouter2000s
Bridges ~ 2 LANbridge 200s
PCs ~ 50 PCs (mostly IBM)
Thanks in advance. I realize this is an open-ended question, but I
want to know what people are doing...thanks.
/Mic
