Running DECMCC on a DECstation 5100/133, we currently have a problem with the /usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_dna4_evl_setup.sh procedure. The last line of the procedure, ie ENABLE node4 local sink monitor, by user root, by password resus42 is resulting in a "Internal error in DECNET Phase IV AM". No futher message. the file evl_original has been replaced by /usr/etc/evl.mcc according the releases notes. Any indication about what is going over there. Regards Pierre

Hi, Please do this: %ls -l /tmp/*evl* Do you see two *pid* files and one pipe file? Has your system crashed or been rebooted recently? When these situations occur, pid files and pipe file would be deleted. The validation during the enabling operation would fail. If none of the pid file is found in /tmp, you must restart dna4_evl_monitor again (by setting exec state off and on) as suggested in release notes. If you like, send me mail for more detailed information (if you still have trouble to start the sink). Jean |
