3974.1 | DECnet/OSI SSB kit | CALLAO::JOSEF | Jose Fernandez, Software Support Group Spain | Tue Oct 27 1992 11:31 | 8 |
| Ooooooooops!
I forgot to say that the version of DECnet/OSI I installed is the
SSB one, no field test at all.
Thanks again for your help.

3974.2 | address arg required | TOOK::PURRETTA | | Tue Oct 27 1992 13:36 | 6 |
| Are you supplying the address argument? e.g.
MCC> register node4 .foobar syn foobar, address = aa.nnnn
This is required syntax when registering on DECnet phaseV nodes
because there isn't a local phaseIV database.

3974.3 | Yes, I do | CALLAO::JOSEF | Jose Fernandez, Software Support Group Spain | Thu Oct 29 1992 02:58 | 12 |
| Yes, I supply the address and it still fails.
When I try to register the node without the address, I get the message:
"Node does not support this system-specific operation"
Thanks for you answer.
Any other idea?

| I know this sounds like a silly question, but are you _sure_
you're running the V1.2 SSB version of MCC. I remember this
same bug was found and fixed late in the 1.2 fieldtest cycle.
I just tried registering and deregistering nodes from my waveII
system and can't reproduce the problem.

3974.5 | MCC SSB kit V1.2 | CALLAO::JOSEF | Jose Fernandez, Software Support Group Spain | Fri Oct 30 1992 10:46 | 6 |
| Yes, I installed the kit from the CD ROM.
Do you suggest to re-install MCC from scratch?
Thanks,
Jose

3974.6 | Reinstall doesn't help | CALLAO::JOSEF | Jose Fernandez, Software Support Group Spain | Mon Nov 02 1992 10:28 | 5 |
| I've reinstalled the BMS kit and the problem has not desappeared.
Any other idea, please?

3974.7 | SSB WaveII CML is the culprit | TOOK::PURRETTA | | Mon Nov 02 1992 17:30 | 16 |
| Jose,
I have some bad news. It turns out that a change made to the waveII
software just before they submitted SSB broke our code. I've been
on the phone with the developer, he knows what happened and how to fix it.
He's going to distribute a fix as soon as he finds out the proper method.
So, if you're an internal site and you still have access to BL12_G, which
I believe was the last baselevel, re-install that and phaseIV requests
from MCC will succeed. Otherwise, you'll need to manage your phaseIV nodes
from a phaseIV system.
I'll post a note in this conference warning others of this problem.

3974.8 | Thanks! | CALLAO::JOSEF | Jose Fernandez, Software Support Group Spain | Tue Nov 03 1992 04:02 | 7 |
| John,
News are always welcome (good or bad). I'll try to go with the BL12_G.
Thanks for your help.
