    DECmcc will be demoing OSI CMIP Interoperability with a
    Northern Telecom Network Management Product for their DPN
    switches at INTEROP next week in San Francisco. DECmcc
    with a prototype OSI CMIP AM will manage DPNs through the
    NT-IWS using GET (IE. SHOW), CREATE, and DELETE CMIS
    functions. The AM also implements GETEVENT functionality
    and will field the events from the NT-IWS. 
    
    The capability is fully integrated with the Historian,
    Alarms FM, Notification Services, and Iconic Map PM. 
    
    DPN's located in the NT booth at Interop will be shown
    on the DECmcc maps via an NT-IWS which is located in the
    DEC booth. DECmcc communicates with the IWS using a
    serial port connection with HDLC LAPB as the link level
    protocol, X25 at the network level, and TP4 at the transport
    level.
    
    The IWS software runs on a SUN Sparcstation and uses the RETIX
    CMIP protocol stack.
    
    This is a significant demonstration of OSI CMIP Manager to Manager
    Interoperability and demonstrates Digital's commitment to 
    OSI Management Standards and producing product for those standards.
    
    The IWS implements a combination of NMF V1.1 objects, OSI standard
    objects, along with NT-DPN specific extensions.
