3917.0. "Can't see MCC child entities after install of latest SNA_AM kit." by FOUR62::LICAUSE (Al Licause (338-5661)) Mon Oct 19 1992 14:53

I've just installed the T1.0-3 SNA PolyCenter software on our VAX 4000/500
running V1.2 of DECmcc. Also installed are all existing released AM/FM
add-ons (TSAM, TCP/IP Diag Ass., FDDI/Bridge, AIRCO demo's and Network
Professor), as well as one or two field test modules such as the script
module.

This system is using DNS as the information repository.

All appeared to be fine until I rebooted the system.

Now when I navigate down to the domain representing the local environment
and double click on the MCC icon, the following error is displayed...

	"Look into Entity MCC DDCVAX_NS:.MCC.DDCVAX_DIRECTOR

The requested operation cannot be completed

	 MCC Unhandled Service Reply

No such entity: Domain DDCVAX_NS:.DWO Member *

	 Domain DDCVAX_NS:.DWO Member *"

for the following modules....

	CONC_AM, NETPOD_AM, SNA_AM, SNA_server, SNA_Agent, AIRCO_AM, SCRIPT,
	STM_FM, FDDI_FM, CIRCUIT_AM, TERMSERVER_AM, BRIDGE_AM.

The map goes down one level to the DDCVAX_DIRECTOR, but none of the above
modules show up.

I've tried ENROLLING the individual modules from the ICPM, but this doesn't
change the display in the DIRECTOR window.

I can use the FCL interface and do a MCC> SHOW MCC 0 SNA_SERVER ALL CHAR
and I do get all of the characteristics:

DECmcc (V1.2.0)

MCC> sho mcc 0 sna_server all char

MCC 0 SNA_Server
AT 19-OCT-1992 09:05:44 Characteristics

Examination of attributes shows:
Component Identification = "DECmcc SNA Server"
                      Component Version = T1.0.3
                           Routing Type = Best Effort
                           MCC SNA Name = DDCVAX
                             Process ID = %X00000233
                         Retry Interval = 30 Seconds
                            Retry Limit = 3

Is this expected behavior or is it something to be concerned about?
