When performing an operation under from the map interface, the system sometimes crashes with "MUNLOCK:dup page unlock". It does not happen all of the time but it does happen enough. I rechecked all of the kernel params to make sure they were setup according to the install guide and release notes and they were ok. The system is A DECstation 5000/200 32mb mem 600mb disk. This is the SSB 1.2. Note: I notice the swap partition is setup for only 60mb, could this be the problem? d.j.

60 Mb is too small for the swap area. However, it causes DECmcc to fail, not a system crash. Your system crash is due to a bug in ULTRIX. The DECmcc release notes have information about a patch for the ULTRIX bug (for ULTRIX V4.2 & V4.2a; in V4.3 they have apparently fixed the problem). -- Erik |
