3745.0. "TCP/IP SNMP AM: Unsupported combination of verb, entity, partition" by CUJO::HILL (Dan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer Resident) Tue Sep 15 1992 13:15

When trying to perform directives from IMPM on any SNMP entity, even a
basic ping (TEST), I receive the following error message:

    Management Window Message:
Unsupported combination of verb, entity, partition

    FCL commands work fine.

    I am running DECmcc V1.2.0, VMS V5.5-2S8, TCPIP_AM V1.2.0+patch to
    include ICMP Retries.

    Any ideas?

	Dan,
Try re-enrolling the SNMP AM from the iconic map. This might
solve the problem. Also check if you have multiple copies of the
dispatch table in the MCC_SYSTEM directory search list.

also verify that the environment is identical in the two
processes that you're running IMPM and FCL from. If one of
your mcc_specific/common/system logicals is different,
you might be pointing to a different dispatch table in IMPM than
FCL.

A good test for this is to run FCL from IMPM (Applications->FCL),
then spawn and so a $ show logicals.
3745.3Problem fixed by re-bootCUJO::HILLDan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer ResidentThu Sep 17 1992 04:468
The system was rebooted during the install of a new UCX kit. Following
the reboot, the problem disappeared. It is likely that the re-enrollment
of the TCPIP_AM fixed the problem, since there is only one copy of the
    dispatch table.

    Thanks for the help.
