3732.1 | MIR changed | TOOK::MINTZ | LKG2-2 near pole X3, cube 6072, dtn 226-5033 | Mon Sep 14 1992 09:30 | 4 |
| The T1.2.7 MIR file structure is different from the SSB version.
Trying to run the new code with the old files in /var/mcc will
produce meaningless results.

3732.2 | Can I save old config. and install again? | TAVIS::ORNA | | Mon Sep 14 1992 10:02 | 12 |
| FIrst of all: thanks for the quick reply.
I suspected that this might be the reason.
Can this be the cause to the problem reported in 3731?
My customer have done quite a lot configuration with
DECmcc T1.27. Is there a way to save all the information
configured, remove anything under /var/mcc as recommended
in the release notes, install V1.2 and rebuild the old MIR?
Thanks again,
Orna.

3732.3 | Maps are new configured (V1.2) | TAVIS::ORNA | | Mon Sep 14 1992 12:37 | 15 |
| After I talked with my cutomer he told me that
had configured all his maps from the beginning
after we installed V1.2 and yet on the X-Terminal
got the errors mentioned in .0 and on the server
got the errors mentioned in 3732.
Is it possible that maybe because we did not removed
everything under /var/mcc, it caused the errors mentioned?
Do you have any suggestion how to keep the data we have
now before making a new installation?
Orna.

3732.4 | Not sure | TOOK::MINTZ | LKG2-2 near pole X3, cube 6072, dtn 226-5033 | Mon Sep 14 1992 13:55 | 6 |
| I have forwarded this note to someone who would know if there are
any tools for preserving the old data. However, since FT code is
not intended for production use, I'm not sure how much is possible.

3732.5 | no /usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_msg.msg | TAVIS::ORNA | | Tue Sep 15 1992 07:06 | 6 |
| We miss the file /usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_msg.msg
Maybe this is the reason that we get numbers of
errors in the error message?
Orna.

3732.6 | That would do it | TOOK::MINTZ | LKG2-2 near pole X3, cube 6072, dtn 226-5033 | Tue Sep 15 1992 08:26 | 7 |
| Yes, if mcc_msg is missing (or if the MSG_LOCATION variable it not set)
then you will get numbers instead of messages. The file is installed
by the kit (and the variable set by mcc_login), so it sounds like
something might be wrong with your installation.

3732.7 | mcc_fdictionary.log & mcc_msg.msg missing | TAVIS::ORNA | | Thu Sep 17 1992 08:54 | 13 |
| Hi Erik,
My customer claimed that mcc_msg.msg & mcc_fdictionary.log
files are missing under /usr/mcc/mcc_system directory.
I reinstalled it on my DECstation and saw that he was right.
I pulled the kit from mccnix::~ftp/pub
Is it possible to copy those files from somewhere on the net?
Orna.
