3717.0. "* alarms and exceptions" by CTHQ::WOODCOCK () Thu Sep 10 1992 12:35
Hi there,
Just a question about alarm exceptions with wildcarded rules. If I have a rule
with expression=(node4 * circuit * substate <> none,at every 0:30:0) what
happens to the polling cycle when an exception occurs??? Example: the first
node4 polled fails with an exception, does the polling continue with the next
node on the list in the domain??? I doesn't appear to. Case in point. We seem
to have a generic problem with several routers in a domain (they are all
rejecting links). Yet I only get an exception on the FIRST node and none of the
others. This leads me to believe the alarm dies with the first exception. If
this is true this should most definitely be fixed to be more robust.
Furthermore it only reports the problem each hour instead of twice an hour??
any ideas,
brad...
