3659.0. "DECmcc redefined vectors" by HLRG02::SYSTEM (Incredible but . . . not true .) Tue Sep 01 1992 08:28
Hi,
This is a question from a customer which I can't answer myself, please can
anybody help me.
DECmcc uses redefined system vectors, to do this the vectors has to be setup.
Because the pages have readonly protection, first the pages are zero-ed by
recreate them with kernel write protection.
However to get this pages you need free memory so the swapper will be triggered
to make free pages.
This is succesful and than an AST will be send to the process.
At this moment things are going wrong.
The process calls system service adjwsl but the address in the vector is
00000000 -> which results in a "HALT INSTRUCTION EXECUTED" on the console.
The error in the code is that they forget to make the ipl lower so the AST will
be blocked.
Question: Is this solved in version 1.2 ?
Thanks for any help.
/-/ Henk.
