I'm trying to get DECmcc running as it should on a DECnet/OSI for VMS (Wave2) node. ONe of the problems I have is to monitor PhaseIV node from the Wave2 node. MCC> SHOW NODE4 .NWO.OSL10 gives the error message "Node does not support this system-specific operation." Any idea on what this is? BJrn Olav

Hi BJrn - On wave1, wave2 and phasev nodes the phaseIV name must be in DNS. Since there is no netnode_remote.dat for phasev in this particular case the dns repository is queried for the address. - darryl | |||||

Please read my notes entry once more. I tried to raise a question about an error message, and used quite a simple command to generate the message. Of course I know that DNS is used, as you can see from my command, AND the question is, what do the message mean? I'm not able to reproduce this from the FCL anymore, I've been working with another problem (event dispatching) that might have solved it. I'll check if I get the error message from IMPM, where I first saw it. BJrn Olav Haugom |
