Steve
Please try the equivalent getevent directive which alarms uses ...
getevent <entity> <event-name> , for duration 200-00:00:00
If no data is returned - suspect the AM or event sink

3633.2 | No joy with getevent | GWTEAL::WOESTEMEYER | Why??...Why not!!! | Thu Sep 03 1992 13:26 | 5 |
| Well,
I tried a straight GETEVENT for area reachablity change, it never did
log the event event though the decnet event was reported via opcom.
Guess this will be an SPR

3633.3 | WSMAX should be set higher | CUJO::HILL | Dan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer Resident | Wed Sep 16 1992 12:32 | 29 |
| Steve,
I'm running the same versions of VMS and DECmcc (V5.5-1 and V1.2.0).
I have found that WSMAX should be set to 32000 and VIRTUALPAGECNT
should be 75000 at a minimum, 100000 is better. Setting these values
this high is especially important if you are using domains with many
members.
Try the following:
$ SHOW PROCESS/CONT/ID=<the_id_of_the_decmcc_impm_startup_window>
Look in the upper right hand corner and you will see the working set
and virtual pages for your IMPM process. This will give you a better
idea of what you will need to set.
Be sure your UAF quotas are increased, as well (WSQUOTA,...,PGFLQUO)
If you find that DECmcc IMPM is sapping your system, you might try
using the following commands to "rob" from other processes that are not
as important, but be sure you have a larger SWAP file, because you will
most likely cause swapping.
$ SET WORK/LIMIT=512/QUOTA=1024/EXTENT=4096
If you don't issue this command when starting up other processes, they
will automatically have an extent based on UAF values set up for the
user in AUTHORIZE.

| Well, note 76.0 in the MCC-ECO notes file indicates this problem has
been identified. The COMMENTS sections raises another question:
"COMMENTS:
This fix has been added to the development stream of the next release."
Which release will this be, 1.3, V??

MCC-ECO does not ring a bell. Are you sure that is the conference name?
