3608.0. "%MCC-E-KERNINITF and heterogeneous VMS clusters" by CUJO::HILL (Dan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer Resident) Mon Aug 24 1992 01:42
In order to test DECmcc on a VAXstation 4000 Model 90 which boots only
under VMS V5.5-2, we had to configure a heterogeneous cluster to gain
access to applications, disks, and data on our V5.5-1 cluster.
In effect, we had two system disks, but MSCP-served all disks to/from
all cluster members.
%MCC-E-KERNINITF errors would occur during the installation of DECmcc
V1.2 and during the ENROLL of any access module.
The search list in a heterogeneous cluster begins first with the disk
from which your system has booted, and ends with the last system disk
in the cluster.
It should be noted that you MUST have the directory structure on all
system disks. In my case, with two system disks, the directory [MCC]
existed on the first system disk, but not on the second.
Re-DEFINing the logical for MCC_COMMON will also work.
