    I  am running some benchmark tests on DECmcc SSB V1.2 Ultrix 
    (POLYCENTER Network Manager for Ultrix !)
    
    The processor used is
    
    DECsystem 240
    288Mb memory
    300Mb swap space
    Ultrix V4.2A
    DECmcc BMS V1.2 SSB
    mcc-iconic-map patched image
    
    Having displayed the Iconic map onto a DECstation if I try to use any 
    of the applications except notification, I get a "Can't Open Display" 
    message.
    	      		setenv DISPLAY fea001::0.0
    	      		mcc_iconic_map_pm.exe-mips &
    
    
    If I use TCP/IP as the transport instead of DECnet, the applications 
    work, but invoking an application (STM, DECnet auto-topology, IP 
    auto-topology), the processor crashes. 
    
    	      		setenv DISPLAY fea001:0.0
    	      		mcc_iconic_map_pm.exe-mips &
    
    Can anyone point out why the processor should crash, and why the 
    problem is related to the applications invoked. I shall attach the VCS 
    log from the last crash. As this is a major benchmark of DECmcc, WITH 
    the customer present swift assistance would be appreciated.

The system crash is due to a bug in ULTRIX.  See the DECmcc release
notes for instructions on installing a patch for this problem.
