3589.0. "lots of Work In Progress diag booxs" by HERON::PATEL_A (LoLo-AQIC-I82Q-B4IP, - LMF) Wed Aug 19 1992 09:00

    System: Ultrix 4.2a, ssb mcc 1.2 40M mem rz57X2 decstation 3500
    Has MOTIF

I know that the mcc ICMP is not MOTIF compliant, but is there any
problem with running the software on a system that has motif
    installed ?

Reason I ask... When I double click to look into a node, works ok, then
I double click on another node works ok, but if I keep doing this and
return to the nodes that have already been double clicked on, I end up
with the "Work in Progress" dialog box that has no ack button in it.
The only thing in the diag box is the contents of what was in that
section of the mcc map behind it. I now have lots of these - the
screen is getting a little messy so I use the window control button to
close the window... all my mcc windows go away. BUT the mcc_iconic_map
is still running in back ground...

    any light Amrit

There are some known problems with running the DECwindows IMPM
under a Motif window manager. I'll try to find out if this is one of them.

Running V1.2 with a Motif Window Manager:

You should not ever use the window control button to close the window
since DECmcc close routines are not called.

In V1.3, with Motif, the Close button does not appear in the
	Window menu.

With V1.2 you can change your Mwm defaults file so that the Close
button does not appear by adding the following lines to Mwm

		Mwm*MCCclass*clientFunctions: -Close
		Mwm*shell_class*clientFunctions:	-Close
		Mwm*mcc_graph_resource*clientFunctions:	-Close

Regarding your problem with double clicking into nodes and the Work in
Progress box not going away, we have not seen this. Can you give us
more details.

Thanks,
Verna
