3565.0. "EXPORTING and REPORTING on DECnet/OSI routers" by GIDDAY::BROOKS () Fri Aug 14 1992 05:34
I would like some advice from anyone who has tried and succeeded on
EXPORTING and REPORTING from any DECnet/OSI entities.
My current configuration is a VAX4000-M60 (VMS V5.5-1)
DECmcc V1.2.0
DATATRIEVE V5.1
CDD+ V4.3-2
RDB V4.0
On a OSI network with DECNIS 500 routing IS-IS and IP on a X.25
network.
I have an MCC_EXPORTER_BACKGROUND running in batch with a parameter of
SYS$LOGIN:EXPORT_ESWDR3_LINE.RDB
I setup 3 exporting jobs in mcc using the following commands;
MCC> EXPORT NODE ETSA_SERVICES_NS:.Adelaide.Eastwood.220.eswdr3 routing
circuit * export target= SYS$LOGIN:EXPORT_ESWDR3_LINE.RDB
MCC> EXPORT NODE ETSA_SERVICES_NS:.Adelaide.Eastwood.220.eswdr3 LAPB
link * export target= SYS$LOGIN:EXPORT_ESWDR3_LINE.RDB
MCC> EXPORT NODE ETSA_SERVICES_NS:.Adelaide.Eastwood.220.eswdr3
export target= SYS$LOGIN:EXPORT_ESWDR3_LINE.RDB
A show export <blah> displays that they are active. I have setup in
Datatrieve a CDD dictionary and defined in login.com CDD$DEFAULT to
CDD$TOP.MCC$DICT. This logical is defined for batch processes in the
process logical name table.
The database name MCC_EXPORT has been defined to
SYS$LOGIN:EXPORT_ESWDR3_LINE.RDB.
I have executed the reports package MCC_REPORTS_FILES:MCC_RPTS and
selected option 2 for phase v nodes and have executed a number of line
and node reports. I managed to obtain some node information, but I
have come to a dead end on trying to obtain line traffic or error
reports.
A question when running line utilization is the circuit type
1) CSMACD
2) HDLC
3) DDCMP
The Line/circuits I am trying to report on are X.25 circuits routing
IS-IS(osi) and IP on a DECNIS 500, any ideas for line protocol?. I have
tried all three and the DTR procedure returned an error like;
:node5_csmacd_bandwidth_rpt

What syntax is required to export correct line data for the MCC_RPTS
command procedure. And will the line type be ?.
Or will DECdecision be the go?
Thanks (from a very confused person.)
