Hello, I have problem geting the correct response from a WANrouter 500.
If I ask the router from MCC I get the response "-- Attribute Not Gettable"
but if I use a program called snmpwalk from an Ultrix system it response
with a sysDescr,sysObjectID and ifNumber.
Below is a log from MCC and snmpwalk. The -d swith on snmpwalk log all snmp
traffic between the host system and the router.
The MCC system is a VAXstation 4000-60 with VMS 5.5-1 and DECmcc BMS V1.2 SSB.

If I use the simple name sewan1 in my mcc snmp query I don't get the referense
attributes !

Stefan, There seems to be a glitch somewhere which is causing sysDescr not to be returned properly at all times. Are you always getting Attribute Not Gettable for sysDescr and sysUptime, or does it get displayed properly sometimes? You can try setting the logical MCC_TCPIP_AM_LOG to 60, which will cause the in and out PDUs to get dumped on the screen. Please mail me the log at the above address. Regarding the other problem with reference attributes, can you do a MCC> DIRECTORY SNMP ANTIK_NS:.mcc_ip.sewan1 and see what the registered Internet Name is. If you want to show reference attributes using an internet name, you must use this name. Are you able to get at the reference attributes using the full name? Rahul. | |||||
