I have a customer who wants to use DECmcc for ultrix on DECstation
5000/240, and he wants to input/output our local language, Hangul,
on the map & other window screen in Korea.
We use our own standard code, 2 bytes ASCII code, to represent
Hangul characters, so we have Korean version of Ultrix (V4.2a) and
OSF/Motif (R1.1.3).
But we can't input/output our Hangul characters on DECmcc because
DECmcc is not localized yet.
My questions:
1) Does the DECmcc support 2 bytes character (8-bit control)?
2) How can I input/output 2 bytes Hangul character without localization
DECmcc source code ?

Unfortunately, DECmcc does not support 2 byte characters yet. Contact Gail (DELNI::) Ferreira to influence the position of this task on the requirements list. -- Erik | |||||

I think this has been relayed to engineering already but to add fuel...
Alcatel in France, are looking at OEM'ing the Director plus several
components, their markets also require local language support

Hi there, localisation is also required by Telenorma AG, Germany. They are part of our SVP program and want to use DECmcc to manage their PABXs. Think about localisation. Kind regards Josch | |||||
