DECmcc T1.2.7
VMS V5.5
Problem:
When bringing up icon window a series of individual error windows appears...
basically one for each SNMP entity in the database.
Each error window looks somthing like this:
blah - blah - domain <domain name>
Unexpected notification returned to Notification FM
Exception encountered
The event sink was started successfully but is not currently
communicating.
I still seem to be getting traps in the notification window and rule firings
also show up there... any idea what these messages mean?

Problem solved... under the DECmcc Notification Window --> Customize --> General Notification Customization is a "Notify Requests Startup File". Somehow, the command file became rather mismatched with the domains and entities that were actually in the database. Some common-sense editing and all is well now. Lee | |||||
