MCC_ALARMS_XXXXX.DAT -------------------- Can someone enlighten me into, why I have hundreds of Mcc_alarms_xxxxx.dat files in my DECmcc account. I assume DECmcc creates these files when, an alarm fires and I also assume that the batch job is ment to cleanup after DECmcc . What are these files used for ??? Can I re-direct them to another directory say mcc_temp???

3508.1 | check MCC_ALARMS_MAIL_ALARM.log files ... | MLNCSC::BARILARO | Thu Aug 06 1992 13:44 | 23
Hi, I hope to don't write something of obvious and you already check out, in every case I check my MCC configuration to find who create these files and who has to delete them. When an alarm fire a procedure (mail, broadcast or log) the command file MCC_COMMON:MCC_ALARMS_SECURITY.COM run the appropriate command file that you have chose for example: MCC_ALARMS_MAIL_ALARM.COM, this command procedure open the MCC_ALARMS_XXXXX.DAT, use it, but it's the MCC_ALARMS_SECURITY.COM that delete it, you could see this if you check the log files. So, seems that you have problem when the control has to come back to the MCC_ALARMS_SECURITY.COM procedure, don't you have perhaps modify some of these files?? One time happens this to me. Sometime also happens me that the alarms batches where stopped in the middle, between the creation of the files end their deletions, by a machine crash, in this case I found this files, but I don't think could be you problem. Hope this help, Ciao Luciano
