I was previously using the BMS t1.2-7 version and then decided to migrate to the v1.2 kit. First I deleted all files concerning MCC in all possible directory's and then I installed the v1.2 kit. Everything works fine except fo rthe SNMP AM. When I select a IP node on the map and do a 'show characteristics' or any other command that accesses the entity I get the following error: Internal logic error 30 was encountered. The same error is received when any sub-entity is accessed. A test command works without problems and I can reach the node via UCX. I've already deregistered and registered the node with no effect. Any ideas what can be wrong? -Geert-

3463.1 | Looks like a bug in the agent. | YAHEY::BOSE | Thu Jul 30 1992 14:49 | 14
Geert, The SNMP AM issues a "hello" message to the agent before it does any SNMP request to it. The "hello" message consists of a request for the SysDescr,SysObjid and Sysuptime. If any of these mib variables are returned in a form not decipherable by the AM, an Internal Logic error 30 message is generated. The SNMP agent is probably returning the above variables in an improper format. The question is, do you get the same error from other agents in you network? Also were you able to access the particular agent in question properly from T1.2.7 ? Rahul.

Other SNMP agents give the same problem. All SNMP access was working ok with the t1.2-7 kit. -Geert-

I have now registered a new IP node (DECstation) and all information of the entity and sub-entity's can be accessed. On the failing IP-node I have verified the community-table (snmpd.conf) which contains the entry public with address 0.0.0.0 access = read which I think is ok. I have added my station address to this table with r/w and traps, and restarted the snmpd daemon, but the problem still persists. -Geert-
