| And it really should be larger for real use. 64 is good for the
install. Given the size of many images on VMS these days a value
of 200 is more like it.

3442.2 | And a customer found it in the hard way | ISIDRO::BURGOS | Luis Burgos. NSC Spain. | Tue Feb 09 1993 12:12 | 14 |

There is a costumer who has found the same problem when going to do an
instalation on a production system, and he is very upset for it,
since he said he has double check every release note and instalation
manual, and nowhere he found that he should change this parameters.
Which he adds it's not one that get increased by the use, or with the
number of aplications that run on the machine like others are.
I think somebody should make sure this kind of things don't happen, and
at least place it on the release notes when it's detected, since this
little details could make somebody very angry and start finding
"problems", in an otherwise a good product.
Regards.

3442.3 | Please QAR/SPR this kind of problem... | TOOK::MINTZ | Erik Mintz | Tue Feb 09 1993 17:01 | 7 |
| This note has been brought to the attention of the documentation group.
Unfortunately, it is too late for the V1.3 documents (this is why
we push QARs; this note was not tracked). If there is indeed a problem
with the current documentation, we will try to catch it in the release notes.

3442.4 | It is a common (but not well known) problem | TOOK::R_SPENCE | Nets don't fail me now... | Fri Feb 26 1993 11:27 | 7 |
| In general, the default 32 is way too small for most applications
that are running on VMS these days. UCX is an example of one who
who can use a larger value, also DECmcc.
I use a value of 200 on my system.
