3423.1 | Swap space? | TOOK::MINTZ | Erik Mintz, dtn 226-5033 | Fri Jul 24 1992 10:38 | 9 |
| Actually, this sounds like a resource problem (might you be running
out of swap space?)
As for ULTRIX system patches, customers get them from the CSC.
Internal users should probably check the ULTRIX notes conference to
see if there is a pointer to an Enet distribution point for them.

3423.2 | swap space OK. | SIOG::TINNELLY | Consultancy for fee NOT free.. | Fri Jul 24 1992 11:13 | 9 |

Erik,
I have checked the Swap space, and have 93 MB of swap space total with
almost 47MB Free. Should be OK. Thinking about it I will not be using
the processes mentioned in the release notes,as my frontend is a VMS
w/s. I will check the patch kit for ULTRIX anyways.

3423.3 | did you `source mcc_login.csh'? | KAJUN::NELSON | | Mon Jul 27 1992 10:51 | 17 |
| Sorry if this suggestion is too obvious, sort of like the maintenance
person making sure that the device is plugged in. You are running out of
stack size and I know that the mcc_login.csh or equivalent shell script
for your shell sets the thread stack sizes. Did you `source' the .csh
file before you brought up the IMPM?
The IMPM runs multiple threads. And the child threads get created with
the stack sizes determined by mcc_login.csh. If you do not `source' the
mcc_login.csh file the threads are brought up with a default stack size
that is too small for some MMs.
You can check the stack sizes by `saving' your current settings using
the customize menu of the IMPM. Then look in mcc_resource.dat for the
stack sizes. Better yet, just make sure each user `source's
mcc_login.csh.

3423.4 | Stack sizes look ok. | SIOG::TINNELLY | Consultancy for fee NOT free.. | Tue Jul 28 1992 07:15 | 11 |

Hi,
Dont worry about asking the obvious question, I am a novice ULTRIX
user so it is quite possible that something basic at the ULTRIX end is
incomplete.
Regarding the Source mcc_login.csh, that has been done, and when I do a
Setenv command I can see the various stack sizes ok.
