3422.0. "HOW reference data is accessed / recorded ?" by COL01::WELZEL (Uwe Welzel, NaC, Cologne) Fri Jul 24 1992 04:50
Hello,
where does DECmcc store the Refernce data of the entities ? and how
does it access them ?
We use two DNS servers in two nodes, node one runs DECmcc v1.2 with
DNS (containing all the master directory replicas) and node two runs
DECmcc v1.1 with DNS (containing all the read only replicas).
When both DNS servers are running everything is ok. If we modify a
reference attribute in one DECmcc we see it on the other one too.
(This means that the information should be stored in DNS, or?)
But when DNS on node one is stopped. Both DECmcc's fail to find
reference data for all entities.

| Reference data is indeed stored in DECdns.
I'll pass on your note to someone who may know why shutting
down the master causes your difficulty.
