| It sounds like may want to look at the user documentation (see the
kit announcement note, 3.something). There is not really any conference
more relevant than this one, which tends to be fairly detailed, where
you are perhaps looking for an overview.
If you have suggestions for the SPD(s), you could pass them on to
Gail (Delni::) Ferreira (product management)

Hi Folks,
I am interested in understanding DECmcc the product, its applications,
architecture and plans. The SPD is pathetic in this regard. Is there
a conference that discusses DECmcc in the way that I need to understand
it?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks!

| You might learn the product from a marketing point of view by looking
at the marketing literature. The VTX LOS (literature ordering system)
can provide you with copies. In VTX OPAL, there is also a slide set
available that give the basic network management strategy and product
overview. It's what customers hear every day. If you have other
questions about management products, look and write into the
ENUF::NETMGT conference.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a glossy in our marketing dept.
titled DECmcc Family of Management Products. It explains the
architecture, features etc quite well. It may help you. Its a
good production.
I was looking at the Spectrum glossy from Cabletron for a proposal.
They do an excellent job on the marketing and use different terminology
as their main headings, such as Proactive Network Management,
Visualizing the Network, Graphical Network Map etc. Topics a
potential customer home in on and get you reading straight away.
regards peter.
