| Hi Julio,
Sorry I did not get back to you earlier. I am not sure why you are
having the problems you have documented. From your note in .0 it
seems liekyou are having two problems.
1. You don't see any connectivity for all the map objects.
2. All class of NODE4 icons have been replaced by a single
generic node4 icon.
In order to solve Q1, can compare the output of
printenv HOME to the string /usr/var. If they are not the
name then you need to copy all your map files generated
by autoconfig to the directory pointed to by HOME.
>>in fact in my home directory (/usr/var) are the DECmcc maps
Your statement above makes me wonder if some how the
definition of HOME directory is not setup appropriatly.
typically HOME points to a user directory i.e
Printenv HOME
/usr/user1/smith
Q2: Can you do an ls of /usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc*node4*icon.dat?
Please post the output here. Output from my system looks as follows:
ls /usr/mcc/mcc_system/*node4*icon*.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_decnet_host_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_decnet_osi_host_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_decrouter_1_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_decrouter_2_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_decsta_ultrix_decnet_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_decstation_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_l1_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_l2_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_lavc_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_print_server_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_rack-demsa_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_rack-vax4000_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_vax3800_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_vax6000_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_vax_host_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_vaxsta_vms_decnet_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_vs3100_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_ws_vax_icon.dat
At the very least you need the following icons to see end nodes,
level1,level2 routers and cluster representations on the map.
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_l1_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_l2_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_lavc_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_icon.dat

Thanks for your comments Anil,
I am going to check you told me,
However let me explain you how I solved (but not in a full way)
the problem:
In fact, with a procedure called mcc_copy_maps (or something like this)
I copied the map files to /usr/var,
I begin DECmcc: # mcc_iconic_map
then If I open the domain (I called NAFINSA) which contains the results
of the autoconfiguration process, the problem is that I specified in .0
NOW if I create another domain (WHATEVER thing by instance MEXICO)
and then in this domain I create the domain (using the toolbox)
who results of the autoconfiguration process, NAFINSA, ( remenber that this
domain it was registered with the script:
mcc_<domain>_registration.com
then I am only drawing the iconic representation of it)
then: THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVE!!!!
If I want to see the what devices are included in the NAFINSA's
subdomains I have to make the same thing,
I am sure that the problem should be a stupid thing,
I hope you have some comments about it
Thanks in advance and regards

Hello Julio,
Do you see the following files when you
"ls /usr/mcc/mcc_system/*.dat"?
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_l1_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_l2_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_lavc_icon.dat
/usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_node4_icon.dat
You mentioned that the icons you see when you open
the domain are not connected. Are they all in
straight rows in the upper left hand corner of the
map? When you open the navigation window (click on
the little square in the lower right corner of the
map window), do you see any lines on the map?
Do you know if all the entities in the domain were
registered successfully? (Look at the file
mcc_<domain name>_registration.log in the working
directory for your domain.)
If the entities were not registered successfully you
may see disconnected icons and lines on the map
in a separate place. Usually these lines are not
visible until you look at the navigation window.
Regards,
Ulla
