Experimenting with alarming on bridge line statistics.
Here is the expression used:
EXPRESSION = (BRIDGE DECFS1 LINE 1 COUNT OF TOTAL FRAMES RECEIVED > 500,-
AT EVERY 00:04, FOR START -0:00 DURATION=00:01)
(The value of '500' was purposely chosen low so as to create an alarm each
time.)
The rule works properly and eveery 4 minutes I get an alarm.
Problem: When I bring up the notification detail window (section Additional
Info - information) the "Count of Total Frames Received" and the associated
timestamp are always the same values... no matter if it is the 1st, 4th or nth
alarm. It could lead one to wonder if the polling/statistical calculation was
actually happening fresh each time (I suspect it is) or if it's just a problem
with the display in the detail window.
If I use the Icon interface and select LINE 1 child entity of the bridge
and select 'statistics' I get a different "Count of Total Frames Received"
each time, as would be expected.
