3279.0. "map_alt_id - What is is it?, Options?" by ZPOVC::ANDREWWAITES (Do what it takes, take what it does) Wed Jul 01 1992 07:44
Hi,
MCC_RESOURCE.DAT has a couple of lines in it that look like:
mcc_pml.map_alt_id.node4 = 1
The copy in DECW$SYSTEM_DEFAULTS has some explanation that
indicates that this (maybe) determines what is used for the map label.
Is this the function?
If so, I'd really like to use just the last element of my DNS names
for my terminal servers..
.i.e. instead of CGIN.SIN.CMAPS1 , use CMAPS1
Is this at all possible?
thanks,
Andrew

| The altid support lets you specify which identifier attribute
to display under the icon.
The functionality you want is "display last simplename only" for
fullname datatype attributes. This is on the v1.3 wish list.
