I have been running DECmcc T.1.2.7 without any problems using the local
MIR rather than DNS. The following is a log of my attempt to install the ELM 
access module. It failed due to the following errors.

%DAP-E-ILLEGAL_CMDFILE, Illegal DAP command file -- File must be produced by the
 MSL Translator 

Does anyone know what would cause this ??

   so that it invokes the DECmcc ELM start-up command
   procedure.  Add:

   after the statement that invokes the DECmcc BMS start-up

   Following the DECmcc ELM start-up the DECmcc ELM

As you can see from the log the ELM T1.2.4 kit runs on DECmcc BMS T1.2.4 and
thus is incompatible with DECmcc T1.2.7. You need to 
install the ELM T1.2.7 kit.  See note 3.149 for a pointer to this kit.
