I am running DECmcc BMS T1.2.7 on VMS 5.5.
I was surprised to see that it's possible to create an alarm rule on an
unknown domain.
(here the domain.test doesn't exist and the CREATE ... RULE ... is accepted !)
MCC> show domain domain.test rule * all attri
Domain DSP_NS:.domain.test Rule NSDPA$LINUTIL$DOMAIN_TEST$NODE4$AEOESA$LINE$QNA-
0
AT 11-JUN-1992 11:58:20 All Attributes
Name = NSDPA$LINUTIL$DOMAIN_TEST$NODE4$AEOESA
$LINE$QNA-0
State = Disabled
The rule Domain DSP_NS:.domain.test Rule
NSDPA$LINUTIL$DOMAIN_TEST$NODE4$AEOESA$LINE$QNA-0 was not enabled, and
therefore has no counters.
Expression = ( NODE4 AEOESA LINE QNA-0 INBOUND
UTILIZATION > 80 , at every 00:15:00)
Alarm Fired Procedure = NSDP$ROOT:[NSDP_ALARM]NSDPA_ALARM.COM;
3
Batch Queue = "NSDP_ALARMING"
Alarm Fired Parameters = "LMB"
Alarm Exception Procedure = NSDP$ROOT:[NSDP_ALARM]NSDPA_EXCEPTION.
COM;3
Severity = Warning
Probable Cause = Unknown
Target Object = Node4 DSP_NS:.dna_node.aeoesa
Is it a known issue ?
If not it should be QARed.
Thanks.

I believe it is known, but don't know if it is considered a bug or a feature. | |||||
